I am embarrassed to say how long I have had this site “almost” ready. I have never really gotten around to putting pen to paper so to speak. Realizing that I am not getting any younger, I know if I am going to do this thing – I had better get going. It seemed a good sign to me that just as I am thinking now is the time to start – an email arrived in my inbox telling me about a 10 day blog challenge.
So this blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 1 . A day late but hey, for me just a day is pretty good.
I have always been an idea person. I’m full of them. Are they good or bad ideas – not sure since I seldom carry through on them. Why? That is the question of the day – literally.
I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to have travelled fairly extensively. But I want to travel more and would like to share and inspire others to travel more as well. So my big idea is start a travel blog and hopefully someday earn an income through writing and photography.
But then I encounter my stumbling blocks.
Lack of belief. With so many travel blogs out there why would anyone want to read my blog. What information can I offer that hasn’t already been offered.
Procrastination – I am a first class procrastinator. Years ago I bought a book titled “The Now Habit”. And by years I mean decades. And I still haven’t read it.
Lack of focus or shiny object syndrome. Whatever you call it, I’m worse than the dog who sees a squirrel. I can be very excited about my ideas and start a project with good intentions. But then the proverbial squirrel runs by me and I’m off on the next great adventure.
So there you have it. And if you are reading this, all I can say is – I have apparently turned a corner because I’ve never gotten this close to actually starting my blog before.
Tomorrow, or if I can maintain focus long enough, later today I will post day 2 of the Freedom Plan Blog Challenge.
Thank you Natalie for sharing your blog challenge. Hopefully this is the push I need to finally get started.
